On-device processing and storage
Ken Prompter requires no account or login and includes no ads, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. Scripts, titles, and reading settings are stored on your device. The app does not automatically upload scripts, videos, audio, or recognized words to the developer.
Camera, microphone, and speech recognition
The camera is used for previews and recordings you start. The microphone provides recording audio and voice tracking. Voice tracking uses Apple's on-device recognition, with no fallback to a developer or other speech server. The system may need to prepare language resources. Manual prompting remains available if on-device recognition or permissions are unavailable.
Recordings and Photos
Recordings are first written to the app's local directory. The app requests permission only to add completed videos to Photos, without reading other photos or videos. After a successful Photos save, the temporary app copy is removed. Failed saves retain the local file for recovery. Interrupted recordings may be incomplete.
Retention, deletion, and permission changes
Scripts remain on your device until you delete them in the app (long-press a script card, or use Delete in the editor), through Files, or uninstall the app. Unsaved input is not saved as a final script. Discarding a recovery file deletes that local recording. Videos already saved to Photos must be managed separately in Photos. You can revoke camera, microphone, and speech permissions in iPhone Settings.
System services and external links
System backups, iCloud Photos, and file providers you select are controlled by you and their system settings; they are not developer-operated cloud sync. Opening support or follow links leaves this app, and those websites have their own privacy practices.
Optional feedback and policy changes
If you voluntarily send feedback through a published support channel, the developer receives the contact details and content you provide to resolve the issue. Do not send account passwords, full scripts, or private recordings. You may request deletion of information provided in feedback. This policy will be updated if features or data handling change.
